As a child I grew up with all sorts of pets; cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, fish and even stick insects. We also had a super Irish Setter. I loved horses too and learnt to ride at a young age. A school questionnaire at 15 showed my ideal career to be in animal care or social work so I became a teacher!! I worked for over 20 years in primary schools in London, Manchester and Leeds, spending the final 8 years as a deputy head. Then I made a life-changing decision and got a dog!
Eric spent much of his early life in doggy day care. I went to work and he spent his day having fun with other dogs. During term-time my job continued into the evenings and at weekends and I missed the time we spent together in the school holidays. I had become disheartened with the constant changes and demands in the education system so after 24 years in the profession I knew the time was right for a new challenge and a better work-life balance. I decided to set up my own pet care business to help look after other people’s animals. I now spend my days joining Eric and his friends outside striding through wonderful parks, woods, fields and dales.
Your dog will have a fantastic time and return home exhausted, giving you that piece of mind. In fact, like me, you’ll probably want to join them!
